The surprising tweet from a government minister has gone viral, as he explains people should “have all the s éx they want to have”
A health minister has revealed that loud s éx is good for your health after he posted a surprising tweet online.
And for those who are unconvinced, he added that it was for the greater good thanks to its individual benefits.
Gabriel Wikstrom is the health minister in Sweden, so when a constituent approached him with a delicate issue, he responded.
The Twitter user tweeted him on Wednesday:
“My neighbours are once again having noisy s éx . You’re my only hope: could you ban risqué exercises after 10pm?”
Observers were stunned when the government minister responded
“Sounds nice for them, I think. Good for their wellbeing and thus public health as well.”
As Swedish residents are banned from loud activities like vacuuming and DIY after 10pm, this stance has surprised some.
Gabriel insists he stands by his lighthearted comments.
“I wanted to reply in a funny way,” Wikstrom told the BBC after his tweet went viral.
“S éx is a political matter as well. We often discuss s éx in negative terms, like, for example, we relate it to rape, we relate it to s éxual abuse… but not to the positive thing that s éx really is. I think we should really start to talk about s éx as something positive.
“I think Swedes should have all the s éx they want to have.
Many Swedes feel they don’t have as much s éx as they want to because of stress and work-related problems.”
