The stadium is located in the city of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. It can sit up to 80,000 people at the same time, making it the third largest stadium in Africa.
Its surface is synthetic lawn. The stadium was built on the 14th of October, 1993. It was however opened to the general public on the 14th of September, 1994. The stadium cost the government a total of USD 38,000,000.
Another name for the stadium is Martyrs of Pentecost Stadium. Aside from being used for football, the stadium is equally used for athletic competitions and concerts.
