Asanda Maku is a Namibian-born South African television presenter and actress best known as a presenter for the SABC2 youth programme Hectic Nine-9.

Born in Namibia and raised in Port Elizabeth, she first rose to prominence as one of the Top 5 Cape finalists on the MTV VJ Search in 2005. Her experience led her to audition for Hectic Nine-9 when it debuted in 2007 and she was one of the show’s original presenters.

She made her screen acting debut in a guest starring role in the third season of the SABC1 police drama series Interrogation Room in 2008.

In 2012 she co-hosted (with KB Ngakane) the SABC2 sport show Sportsview, which aired on Sundays at 12h30. The show brought sports fans up to date with sporting news and went behind the scenes to engage with sporting personalities.

After presenting Sportsview she gave birth and stepped out of the limelight for three years, raising her daughter and studying copywriting at the AAA School of Advertising.
